Let me ask you a question, what is the infatuation with SSP?

BTW, I was doing some work the other week on an older Campy equiped steelie of mine, and came across the full grouppo (still in the box) that it replaced. I originally built the bike with Suntour Supurbe Pro. I replaced it because I crashed it out and scuffed up the RD. I dont recall if I replaced it because of performance issues, or becasue of aesthetic issues.

I had almost forgotten about that I used to ride Supurbe Pro, until I found it.

peace
Zac

Zac,
I have had a number of Japanese bikes during that time frame with Suntour and have always liked them. I also wish they would have been able to compete with Shimano and others. It's kind of like the underdog. I also like the quality of the SSP stuff. Just a thing I have. Campy is nice too, but I never owned any of that stuff. I know there are a lot of collectors of Campy out there too.

So are you saying you have a set of SSP that might be for sale?

I have some Suntour Superbe (NOT Superbe pro) pedals with built-in toe clips. PM me if you're interested. They've got some miles on them, but I'd be happy to exchange for postage and a small cycling souvenir of your choice--like a livestrong band, cycling key ring, that sort of thing. I've done this on the pay it forward thread, and its been fun.

I was a bike mechanic during the late 70's through most of the 80's, and I always liked the SSP stuff. I never did ride very much, and then quit riding completely until this year. I have decided to upgrade to modern equipment and, as a result, have some SSP components that I was planning to sell on ebay in the spring. Some used, some new-in-box ... all in prime condition. If you are interested, e-mail me at (glen.shuldes@wilsontool.com).

I believe that I still have a Suprebe Pro seatpost and it might even be unused. (It didn't fit in the frame that I got when I bought the groupo) I also might have a few components left. I also believe that I have some wheels left with the Superbe hubs. I will look to see when I get home today.

I also have some Suntour XC Pro components, that was their top of the line mountain bike components. I loved Suntour as well. In my opinion at the time they worked as good as anything that Shimano or Campy made. I have never had better hubs than the Suntour hubs. Many years of use and neglect and yet as smooth as butter, both mountain and road.

If someone is interested in any of these Suntour parts and I don't respond on here then email me at briancrps@yahoo.com
