I just bought a used Miyata road bike, six fifteen model made in Japan. The front wheel is smaller than the back and I was wondering if that's a 'style' thing or if there is any added performance. Also, does anyone know when this model was first produced?
Can I change the thread adjusting the position of my seat for something easier to use?
It is quite painful to find the right size tool; I would prefer to have it with some kind of hand bar like the one for the front wheel.

Thanks Barbara

I answered the question on the wheel size on another thread. As for the seat height adjustment bolt and changing it out for a quick release type ,the answer is it depends on how the binder on yours is setup. it is highly likely, but you would likely have to go to LBS and have them try and match up something suitable for you,as there are alot of possible variations to deal with.

The earliest I can recall on a Miyata 615 is 1986. This does not however mean that this is when it was first produced.
