should I go with the Campy Record chain or the Wipperman Connex 9 stainless steel? I know there are less expensive alternatives out there...I just want at least one thing on my bike to be the best:)

umm get the record chain. I quote from the campag website,
The Record C9 and C10 Ultra·Drive chains were designed to mate with Ultra·Drive sprockets and are an essential complement to them in order to get the best and intended performance from them and the entire Ultra·Drive drivetrains. The links are Teflon-finished chrome-nickel and have special shapes and bevels.
I see it as a bit of a no brainer really, you want your veloce gruppo to last, then go with the record chain.
