Anyone out there using a Sugino (or other 110 x 74 BCD) crank with 46-36-26 chainrings... aka a standard size mountain crank or, these days, a compact road triple? If so, what front derailler do you use or recommend? Thanks.

I'm running a 48/36/36 Front, and a 105 FD. Riv bikes has a good piece on setting up a road FD with a MTB or Trekking crank. Here's a link, see bottom of page (http://www.rivbike.com/webalog/shifters_derailleurs/17082.html). Thing to remember, if your running a Road FD, you need Road shfters, if your running a MTB FD, you need MTB shifters. Rear DR doesn't care, but the cable pull and travel requirements are different for the FD between types.
Of course, all this goes out the window if you are running bar-end shifters. :)
Who is really tired, tough class this week
