i've been looking at building up a track bike (not a conversion), but haven't really been able to find any frame i like to build off of, and it seems like the pre fab IRO mark V would probably be the best (taking into account building up a bike would be about $300 for a frame, $110 for a front wheel, $100 for crankset & hub, $30 for cog, $50 for a headset, $70 for a seat, free seatpost, $30 stem - well over the cost of a mark V), but IRO won't have any until september, and i'm sorta impatient. know any online places to order them aside from direct? Or any suggestions at building one up cheaper (w/o doing a road conversion)

I just sold my IRO 53cm complete (picked it up from Tony) to a nice guy here in NYC (I got "upgrade" fever).

He emailed me a couple days later saying the geometry was all wrong for him, and wanted to know if I had any other interest.

He may sell it you - PM me and I can give you his details...

all bicycles around seem like tiny people bikes haha

Yeah, when I first rode the 53 Mark V it was good. It was my first road bike. I had been riding mountain bikes before that. Then I took a test ride on eddie's 55 bianchi, although not a huge difference, it was enough to make me realize I was riding a "tiny people bike" and needed a larger size.
Thanks for the compliment on the bike eddie!

just out of curiosity, how tall are you?

exactly? 5' 9.75"

told me i was in the 55 range.
I just sold the bike. I loved it when I had it, it's a great bike. The frame just felt too small.
The seatpost had setback and the seat was set back pretty far on the rails. it almost felt like i was sitting over the back axle. I had an 11cm stem and I would keep my hands out on the flats of the bullhorns when I rode. I had the seatpost pretty high too.
Now I need to get a new bike, I want to see the new IRO angus. I'll be stopping by Tony's place to drop some cash soon. Unless something pops up that I can't refuse.
