I tried to find a moderator email address to send this to, but didn't. Before I forget, I thought I'd post it here.

When I signed up as a new member, this evening, I saw that the GMT time shown on the registration page was fast by one hour. The registration page said it was 8:12 am GMT. But, WWV said it was 7:12 (actually it was 7h15 by the I tuned in WWV). Also, FWIW, GMT is always 24 hour time. No AM or PM.

Hello Joe.
I was about to post the same comment, until I found this thread. It looks like the time shown is really BST rather than GMT, so the error will go away for a while next week when Daylight Saving Time ends.

GMT (aka UTC = Coordinated Universal Time) is supposed to be the mean solar time at the meridian of Greenwich. It's not supposed to be affected by the adjustment for Daylight Saving Time. And yes, it's generally expressed in 24-hour time.

You might try here: http://www.time.gov/ and select "UTC" for a time zone.
