I think that posting here on a genuine good deal would be one of the quickest ways of losing it.

Well, it's over, and I'd say no. For around $500 new, you'd have to pay $645 (shipping), and all you really get is an ugly color and a pair of bullhorns PLUS a waaay easier gearing. Did you end up buying it?

$120 bucks or so, if i recall correctly. i don't really price brakes too often.
it's also complete overkill for a fixie. i've used old ass 105's that have more than enough braking power.
edit - i just noticed that this thread has a twin. i was wondering where my comment went.

I've used some trashy Dia Compes and Exage brakes. Frankly, brake design is more important than product line. Cantis will stop faster than dual pivots will stop faster than sidepulls. But frankly, just about any brake can be setup for adequate stopping power under most conditions, particularly on the road.
Having said that, 3/4 of my brakes are sidepull center pivots and treat me just fine, including my rain bike.
