Good bikes for under $300

I've decided, that the best way to counter he minor anoyance of "Whats a goot bike a a Newbie" threads, Was to create an easy reference, for newcomers to this forum. I know this isn't the magic bullet, to stop all of these threads but hopefully it'll help keep the number of these down. So please, list a decent bike in this price range, and provide a link to the specs of this bike.

Anything at a BIKE SHOP (not Wal-Mart, not Copeland's, not Toys R Us, not any kind of miscellaneous sporting goods store, a BIKE SHOP) that doesn't have a coaster brake. Everything at that price point is pretty much the same.

Yeah anything at a bike shop is good. Also I recommend Haro F2. Pretty decent bike.

If you're going to list a bike, I have some suggestions. List the specs, or at least some of them, the approximate price, and where it can be purchased. It would also help to list the application - dirt, race, freestyle, etc.

The differences that will actually mean something will be in geometry. Componentry at any given price point between $200-$500 is all pretty comparable. Things to keep in mind:

Longer top tubes, longer rear ends and relaxed geometry are good for dirt and park riding, where speeds are higher and the focus is on flow, not technical tricks. The smaller the geometry and tighter the angles, the more the bike is going to be designed for technical riding...street, technical park riding, vert, and at the most extreme end of the spectrum, flatland.

dk eight pack, six pack 05', stolen wrap, stolen getaway, reline slam, haro f series, eastern shovelhead, anything at the local bike shop will do............for under 300 bucks most of those are good but I like the shovelhead or the wrap the best........
