Glancing through "Foo" in "The Lounge" I've noticed quite a few computer related threads.

I think that in "The Lounge" there should be a "Computer Assistance" section. I'm sure there are many people on the forums that have the occasional scream at their machine but don't know where to turn to. Taking it to Best Buy (or similar) is expensive and most problems can be fixed rather simply but the user can't figure out the right words to google search to get a good answer.

Just like a bike, a computer needs security and maintence to keep it's owner happy and running smoothly. Keeping questions in "The Lounge" will keep the unrelated forums from getting clutter.

Besides, if your computer is running good, that's less time you need to spend fixing it and more time you can spend on the bike :).

Cheers,

G

why don't you just start a thread??

"Computer tech support - post your questions"

foo doesn't have enough computer questions for a sub-forum or sticky, I'm not sure you could have enough activity to even keep a thread bumped--but good luck

The thing is that when someone has a problem, it usually isn't answered in the first reply, or possibly I can't answer it. I'm not saying I'm a genious, but I have helped quite a few people, even if it was just via good Google searching.

As for keeping a thread bumped, that's not really the objective. I wouldn't want to see a 10-page thread on "Come here for computer help", sticky or not. Signals could get crossed causing someone to "fix" a problem that they don't have.

My point is that it would take very little moderation and provide a community-based service to other members in need without thinking it may be taboo to ask here.

Well to be honest, google it. The answers and members here aren't meant to be computer experts. Foo is a perfect place for computer problems, it they get to in depth google or one of the million tech sites on the planet would be better :)
