You can't run a 25T sprocket without using a cassette hub IF you want to run a proper gear ratio, which you should. The smallest proper ratio you can use without getting a cassette hub is 36/13. If you want to run that, you have to have a flip flop hub and you would have to get the Odyssey 13T freewheel(odyssey is the only company I know of that makes 13T freewheels). For future reference here is listed the proper ratios-
44/16
43/15
39/14
36/13-smallest you cna go WITHOUT a Cassette
33/12
30/11
28/10
25/9
Your best bet, if you can't afford a Casstette hub is to exchange your FBM sprocket for one that will work with your current freewheel. Or just save up for a nice cassette hub(Odyssey Hazard)and then bring it to your local bike shop to have them assemble it for you.

check around your seat and if all else fails try google or push with your arm.

Better start saving for a cassette, because unless you already have a flip flop rear hub you can't even go down to 13, the smallest you can get is 15. Also if your brake bosses are on the chainstays you may have issues with your chain rubbing on the brake stacks, so be aware of this possibility.

well you could always go with 25/13 but you'd be peddling like crazy and not really going anywhere. my friend rides 36/16 and he peddles like hell and doesn't get anywhere. I'd say save up for a cassette hub. the cheapest you could get is a poverty freecoaster but i wouldn't trust poverty. I'd just save up for either a primo cassette or an odyssey hazard lite cassette.

what, the poverty frecoaster is for flatland, as are all freecoasters and its way more expencive then the poverty cassette

I'd bet money the Poverty freecoaster is made by Taska and is utter garbage. If you're going to get a freecoaster, it's Nankai or bust, and yes it will cost you probably 30-40 bucks more than a comparable cassette. Due to the tempermental nature of freecoasters I wouldn't run one for anything more abusive than flat and maybe some very light park/street anyway.

Did a bike shop sell you that sprocket knowing you didnt have a casette wheel?

Yeah... that would be my question.
How in the world did you end up with a 25t sprocket?
Do you have any clue if it will even work with your frame?
You shouldn't run it at all until you have a cassette hub of the proper size, even then, that is a really small setup, but should be nice with a good cassette w/9t driver.

think thats bad? i have a mate who runs 33 or 30 - 16!! he swears blind "its better" and he "can accelarate like a" followed by an expletive which i will leave to your imaginations. i'm 39-14. the way it should be.

I think 36-13 is the nicest like normal sized gearing. 39 sprocket it just a little too big, and I would run smaller than 36 if my break mounts werent in the way.
