Heheh i just made a good steal at work today (no i didnt rob my store). I slapped on a Very light aluminum Cinelli (last year) handlebar and quill stem for $75 CDN. Then i thru on this $20 handlebar tape for $8. I think I gotta good deal on the handlebar and stem. I payed 40 for the handlebar and 35 for the stem. The advantages of working in the bike industry.

Wow. I am in awe.
Good thing I'm getting a job at my LBS soon. Peeps who work there say the owner typically lets the peons pay only 40% of list on new bikes (!).
Two words:
Cannondale.

Depends on your bike shop. If you work at a nice one, they will give you pro deals..letting you get bikes at cost. 40% to 50% of list is about right.
My Cdale R700 would've been about $950 cdn :D ...alas I plan on getting a Litespeed 2003 instead :)

Well... it really depends on which Cinelli handlebar and which stem. As for the tape, if your shop is charging $20 for any tape, then they're ripping off their customers. My LBS sells Cinelli for @ C$12.

I bought a Ritchey Pro bar and stem combo for US$60 mail order in June and a roll of synthetic tape for US$8.
