I received an email saying that I should introduce myself, and since I listen to emails that tell me what to do, I am introducing myself.

I live in Philadelphia, and bike as often as I can. However, I live too close to work to bike (I would spend more time unlocking and locking my bike than actually walking to work), so I normally bike for fun, to run errands and for excercise.

A few months back I purchased my first new bike (my previous one was a used bike purchased by my husband for $100). It is a mountain bike. A few weeks ago, my husbands moutain bike got stolen and he purchased a fixed gear road bike. I rode it to check it out and I really like it and plan on saving up to buy one to use for excercising.

I didn't really enjoying biking (too much) until very recently. One main reason I didn't enjoy biking was because I had flakey gears, my seat was too uncomfortable and not easily adjustable, and my handle bars were at an angle that made my back hurt. However, the new bike is very comfortable and not as heavy as the old one. Plus I like riding a bike with more than 4 gears. :)

So now I can go back to lurking in the various threads.
