David rocks. One of the guys that took the time to write our junior rider who shmacked a tree. Those guys all go up big in my book.

Oh Zabo, I really think when one or two CSC guys didn't break off with him in that time trial when he fell in the yellow, it broke him...no support, so he left the race two days later. Not from bumps and bruises, but from lack of support in his own team. Too bad, I was pulling for him. The mental is more important than the physical...

this guy can tt, right--but he won't ever be a GC contender?

just wondering, I'm trying to figure out who the next American TDF winner will be (Chris Horner would be awesome, but I don't think he can tt and he's getting old, not enough experience in Europe etc... What about Danielson?)

okay, rambling over

I feel so much more educated on the taint. Makes you wonder though if some of his points are serious. Like shaving the taint, for example.
His interviews are hilarious

Well Ziggy, he has a genuine chance... He has the ability to pull off great TTs, a trait amongst a lot of the winners.. He has won a stage in La Vuelta and by all accounts he can climb.
I think his aim is to place #1 in the worlds ITT and then start focussing more on becoming a complete GC rider.. His body type looks perfect for a GC kinda rider... I definetely like him as a gc contendor...

On a side note, this guy is pretty eloquent, the whole superhero part... :roflmao:

He retired from injury, not lack of hugs and booboo kisses from the team. Zabby has has a serious crash in the past and he aggrevated a past injury. He gets tons of support from CSC, he just needs to get less accident prone.

Those interviews were certainly more meaningful than any tripe Bob Roll has ever done.

He's one of the world's top time trailists, he's the world's best cycling interviewer. I present the collected interviews of Dave Zabriskie, super genius.

Thor Hushvod of Credit Agricole:

DZ: Thor what does it feel like to have the coolest name in the peleton?

TH: I didn’t know it was a cool name.

DZ: Trust me it is.

TH: O.k. then. It feels pretty cool then.

DZ: Thanks for the interview.

----

Stuart O’Grady of Cofidis and here’s what was said:

DZ: Stuart O’Grady can I ask you a question?

S.O: Yes.

DZ: Have you ever done any Kangaroo Boxing?

S.O: Negative

(another rider tells him, "you know that is going on his website?")

S.O: In that case I have done a little pub boxing.

DZ: Thanks.

---

I rolled up to Alessandro Pettachi and this is what went down.

DZ: Could I ask you a question?

AP: Yes.

DZ: Do you like Star Wars?

AP: Star Wars?

DZ: The movies.

AP: Yes.

DZ: Thank you.

I bet you never thought you’d know that now did you.

-Dave Z.

---

Trent Wilson of Selle Italia:

DZ: Trent if you could make a rubber band bracelet what would it stand for?

TW: Something to do with beer.

(2hrs later) TW: Actually the band would be black and it would say DON’T FIGHT IT. For example if there is a gruppeto forming and you are in it don’t try to jump to the group in front, don’t fight it.

DZ: Thanks for the interview Trent.

Goodnight everyone
-Dave Z.

---

Doc's favorite to date:

Charlie Wegelius of the Liquigas Team.

DZ: Charlie have you ever actually had Liquigas?

CW: You mean like when the s*#t comes out of your ass in a Liquid?

DZ: Sure.

CW: I had to quit the Giro in 2003 because of it.

DZ: Thanks for the interview.

-Dave Z.

---

Robbie McEwen.

DZ: Did you read comic books growing up?

RM: No

DZ: Do you consider yourself a superhero?

RM: No I’m mortal because I have bad days, If I were a super hero I would never have a bad day. Oh yeah I used to read some books from New Zealand about a farmer and his dogs.

DZ: Ok thanks for the interview.

---

Michael Rasmussen:

DZ: Do you mind doing a one question interview with me?

MR: Go ahead ask me anything.

DZ: Ok, has anyone ever came up to you and called you the chicken, and you said “no I’m the rooster dammit.”

MR: No.

---

Tom Danielson:

DZ: Tom if I could hook a stick to your helmet and hang something in front of you to make you chase for it, what would that be?

TD: Well, hmmmmmm how about Dave Zabriskie.

DZ: No I don’t think so, people might get the wrong idea about us.

TD: Ok, how about Ferretti. (DS of Fassa Bartolo)

DZ: Ok, right on thanks for interview

Priceless! It's like David Letterman sent one of his crack staff to the races to ask questions. This bumps David Z. up on the charts considerably. (Not that representing in the Yellow Jersey for several days in July didn't already provide a significant boost!)

More! More!!

Did you ask DZ's permission before you lifted content off his website? Next time just link to it. Or search first, there are already several threads & links to the site on BF.

Great stuff from DZ! lookin forward to new adventures

he is just such a locomotive, tatanka - when he stops running off the cliff, he's gonna be awesome to watch... he already is.

HEY! back offa Bobke! he's totally earned the right to do anything he wants, on-air. Just imagine being cloned with a bunch of 'Als' or worse, using those Poofdas they had doin the Dakar broadcast this year.
Phil & Paul? elemental stuff, would be like tryin to build a sandwich without the whitebread slices...

Hey smartass, I was being serious. Some people don't like having their material reprinted without permission, credit given or not. Linked to, cool. Copied and pasted, with an "I present" as the lead-in, not cool.

I think this sport could use a little more irreverence.

Again, think. Public domain blog. I never took credit for any of those words, and I even advertised his blog.

stop being a lawyer wannabe weenie, that's not cool. By your standards, we can't quote anyone on the www.

Where did you get the idea that someone else's thoughts are public domain? (That sounds like legalese, btw.) All I'm suggesting is that you should seek permission before reprinting his stuff, otherwise just link to it. Maybe he doesn't care, but you don't know that. You're claiming rights that don't really exist. I suggest you have a look at this article (http://weblogs.about.com/od/issuesanddiscussions/a/copyrightblogs.htm).
