Hi all,

Richard Nicholls (aka Zippy) from Stafford in the middle of the United Kingdom here.

Er.....where do I start, how about the begining. OK, I took up this great sport seriously in 92 and tried some MTB racing.....did rubbish at that so I bought myself a road bike in 95 to get fitter.

Well, I loved the road bike so much that I eventually gave up the MTB'ing. Not before I had a superb holiday with a good friend who lives in Colorado about 40 or so miles from Denver. He took me on some fantastic MTB rides but the road won.....:D .

I did about 3 seasons of Time Trialing and did quite well at that, then came road racing and I was OK at that as well. But the old 4 letter word (WORK:mad: ) became more important and racing took a side line. I still compete against myself and I ride between 30 and 40 miles every other day. Maybe racing will come again......who knows!

I have spent the best part of £20,000 over the years on bikes and bits and I now ride a Colnago Master X-lite.......it's a lovely ride and I don't see myself changing it in the near future.

Nice to meet you all, look forward to posting here.

Zippy

Wasn't it HG Wells in "War of the worlds" who wrote something like, "slowly, but surely, they drew their plans against us.":D
