I'm a huge vBulletin fan (the powerhouse behind this forum) and I use Firefox so I see the vBulletin logo on my firefox tabs instead of the bikeforums logo
You can create a favicon really easily using http://www.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/
and then upload it to your server to replace the default favicon.ico - may be in the root directory or may be in images...
I've attached a zipped up example you can use...
