I'm struggling with finding a good plan of attack for hydration and energy. I'm a bigger guy and I want to lose some fat. I've used Cytomax and GU powder usually diluted to half the recommended scoop to ounce of water. The problem is two fold. One, these energy drinks seem to be more targeted at someone trying to maintain weight than lose it. Should I be using something else to replace my electrolytes, but lose more fat?
The other problem is I get headaches after a ride. This past weekend I rode 30 miles in 2 1/2 hours mid 80's temp, consuming near 70oz of half diluted cytomax. I drank fluids and ate afterwards, but I still had a headache.
Any advice?
