When I start a new thread, there is a Preview button next to the Submit Thread button. When I click Preview, what comes back is more or less exactly the same type of screen as the one I type it in on. Like it does a refresh, rather than show what the thread might look like to someone viewing it in the discussion group.

Have I lost the plot about what the Preview button is meant to do. From where I sit, it does not look that useful a feature to have?

Cheeky sod!

Getting the hang of technology is not the problem. It's knowing what it's meant to do that I'm after.

Any more lip from you, and I'll, I'll, I'll report you to Joe. You just see if I don't. Just 'cos you have more posts than me, does not put you on a pedestal, or is it a pedal-stool.

I demand an apology, or I won't let you see the picture of my new Gemini 1000, so there.....rasssssp!

:D

An unreserved apology is offered.

I couldn't resist it, you wear your R.S.A credentials on your sleeve - Bokkie, lekker jol, a zebra, hobbies: Springbok rugby.

Are you in UK short term?

I did a 110k ride down Surrey Dorking way last weekend. Tour of the Hills. Not TOO far away from Crawley. Get your hill climbing legs in training and give it a go next year. We could share a Castle.

I'm a hybrid. 50% on my dads side. Born here. Lived there and here and there and here, same with school, varsity, etc. Only one rugby team counts. Love my biltong, braais, and an ice cold frosty Castle, now we talk.

I appoint you, honorary boetie.

Stew, I was reading your message, getting all
gatvol, then I read the last line and I figured it'd be
ok, anyone who talks Castle can't be all that bad,
Now can we talk Windhoek lager?

Well actually, I was only recommending Castle in the interests of detente. I'm not a fan of lager and would far prefer a pint of pride.

I'm really Zimbabwean. South African father, british mother and Zimbabwean by birth.

Zimbabwe to RSA is as Canada to USA or NZ to Australia. (and Scotland is to England) so many Zimbabweans have a wee chip on their shoulder about beng mistaken for South Africans and what with South Africa being bigger, better, richer and more technologically advanced. (And then some in these last few, bitter years)

But in the brotherhood of ex British colonials that return to the motherland to take all the jobs and/or work in the pubs, I'll lift a glass of anything.

And there's enough commonality in biltong, braais, rugby and sunburnt noses to make us all cry in our beer.

Wag 'n bietjie, boet.

I remember the first rush of Zimbabweans to come into SA during the bush war in the 70s, and how the Zim folk were humourously referred to as when-wes as in "when we were in Zim, we had..." or "when-we were in Zim we did this...". How sad to see the demise of a really beautiful country. Zimbabwe, an acronym for (apologies for any offense caused) Zero-Intelligence-Mainly-Because-All-Brainy-Whites-Emigrated. Not politically correct, but a clever play on words all the same.

Windhoek lager. No better place than HQ in Windhoek. Best one I ever had was up in the Etosha Pan. Castles made great sundowners in the bush. As the heat of the day went down, it was lekker beyond comparison to quench your thirst on an ice cold frosty, straight from the fridge in the Land Rover and watch springbok pronking and a host of other amazing game coming down to the watergat.

What the darned has this got do with bikes?:D

One of my favourites in the UK:-

What's the difference between an Australian and a jumbo jet?

A Jumbo Jet stops whining at the airport.

We had the out-laws form Oz with us a while back. One of the kids was telling us about a railway junction called Peachy Weachy Pass. Some wag got to the sign, removed the first letter from each word, and now it's known as Eachy Eachy Ass. Only an Ozzie.:D
