Well I went in today and picked up the Sun EZ-Rider that was offered to me by my lbs for a deal I could not refuse. He helped do some set-up and tweaking for about an hour as I rode around town and returned for adjustments, etc. Amazing the differene a few tweaks make!! I am sure I will be playing with it a while as I get it to "fit" perfectly! I am SO stoked!!!
The last thing I did was install my bike computer with the lbs owners help. After that I was off to tour my hometown on the 'bent!! It was simply a pleasure!!
I am a bit puzzled on the fairing though. What is the "proper" positioning of them? Mine as installed was in a high position - such that I could not see over it - I had to look through it to see anything - like a car windshield. This seemed distracting and took away from the "sit back and enjoy the scenery" feel I got while testing bikes.
I rode home and took it off after a while of riding and rode a bit without it..... nice and much more open of a feel. Still, seemed like a bad thing to waste it by leaving it off.......
I put it back on but in a lower configuration (the one in the picture) and I can see over it now, so it is less distracting. But it is "still there." Is the fairing one of those "love it or hate it" things as far as the view is concerened? I would love to hear your opinions on this. I ride a Vespa and do not have a fairing - as I feel it takes away from the open air feeling of riding it...... same on a 'bent??
I was able to get up to 21 mph on a flat section of road here and kept it up for the length of a few blocks (had to slow due to road end. :)
I also noticed while riding one of the first accessories I will get for sure - a rearview mirror!! :)
