So, I had a bike vs. car accident a few weeks ago. Now, I'm wonding, since the other party's insurance got involved, do I still need to submit a SR-1 accident report to the DMV?

I don't know the specific law in CA (even though I rode there for a few years) but I have three initials for you... CYA!

Just do it. :)

Was someone injured in any way? If so, I believe it's required by law, unless the police took a report at the scene. It's on the DMV website.

Who's liable? I don't know the law in California, but I wouldn't count on the driver's insurance company to be looking out for your best interests-

it's usually in the driver's, not the cyclist's, best interest if no accident report is filed, I'd file one if it was me and I got injured and the driver was at fault.

You might want to contact Helmet Head- he seems to be able to quote vehicle code.
Tell him Swami's Princess sent you.
