I am trying to get back one of my shirt pockets. Does anyone know where I can purchase a map holder that attaches to the stokers handlebars. P.S. I realize that it's a pipe dream to believe that I will ever get to use that pocket again !!!

there are lots of nice stoker's handlebar bags that have a clear map holder. Or, she can pin the map/cue sheet to the back of your jersey above the pockets.

As you already know, the more storage units you attach to the tandem, the more crap will be stored 'just in case'....... I think I have at least one year-old power bar at the bottom of the bag.....

Put the map in a plastic ziploc baggie. Attach with 2 safety pins to back of pilot's jersey. Or attach ziploc to top of pilot's pockets with 2 'roach' clips thereby not putting holes in back of jersey.
Galen: 1 year old power bar? . . . you need to throw that jersey in the laundry!!!

Energy bars?.... If he meant saddle bag... I am guilty too... that is in my single, because my wife/stoker keeps the saddle bag in the tamdem very tidy.

Just yesterday, I picked up a small handlebar bag with clear map holder for $14 from REI. Fit the bike just fine... but stoker discovered this morning that it's in the way of her knees when she stands. Woops. Seems like a decent little bag & map holder otherwise!

First off: we hardly ever stand on the tandem. But even when we do, the Cannondale "Toot Handlebar Bag" that fits nicely under my stoker's handlebars is hardly in the way. And it's really practical - we've used one since we got our first tandem in 1990. More on this bag on http://www.cannondale.com/clothing/05/aw/model-BHB321.html. A prerequisite is that there is at least some 5 inches of room between the stoker stem and the rear top tube. Said bag has a small map holder, but it shouldn't be too hard to improvise a bigger one.

OK... let me clearify...

The year-old power bar was in the stoker's handlebar bag....

which is this Jandd bag

only in black which can be found here if you look:

Stoker had knee-interference issue also untill I zip-tied the bag to the stoker's stem in a forward position.
