Tandem Cycling - Vintage - "Valk" triple-seater

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I see a three seat "triplet" nine foot-long bike. Looks to be 1950's/1960's. The tag on the back of each seat reads "Valk" (likely Dutch). Has anyone ever heard of "Valk" as a manufacturer of bicycles from this or any era, either single, tandem or longer? My interest is to know that this triplet is manufactured and authentic rather than homemade. There is so little information out there on vintage 3,4,5, and 6-seat longbikes. Thank You.

The Dutch word 'valk' loosely translates to 'falcon' in English.
However, never heard of that brand name.

I Googled "Valk". I got mostly hits on motorcycles. It did find a few hits for bicycles, but nothing about tandems or triples.

"Valk" on the three seats. Looks maybe repainted/decals gone.
Look at the pair of unusual shaped bars running from the front to the rear hub. Did any manufacturer make bikes like this or is it likely homemade?
Google search returned no hits for "Valk" bicycle nor "Valk" bicycle seats, BUT THE SEATS ARE DEFINETELY VALK - yes? Is bike homemade? Thanks

These bars were referred to as 'twin laterals' and were usually staight; nowadays tandems have a larger single tube there, referred to as an 'internal lateral' to supposedly add lateral stiffness.
Due to larger-yet oversized tubing, look for several new 2006 tandems that will eliminate any type of lateral tube(s) and actually be an 'open frame' design.

Don't know what it is either but it sold for $2225 which surprises me. Triplets are exceedingly rare but this doesn't look like it was/is a real high line build. None of the bidders were particularly experienced eBayers either.
Of course my knowledge of such bikes is squat and somebody may have gotten the Holy Grail for a screaming deal.
