After 2 months of owning a roadbike I had my first puncture today:( , I was cycling through a town that I've passed through before but haven't paid much attention to.

Stopping the bike, I figured that it would be easier to pump up the tire with a track pump than my Mini-pump, so I asked a pedestrian if there was a LBS, he looked at me smiled and pointed to a bikeshop that was about 20yards down the road.

The owner couldn't have been more helpful(they always are), and after a nice chat I went on my way again.

So have you been the recipient of good fortune on your travels ?

A puncture only 20 yds. from a bike shop that was open? I find that amazing.

What I don't find amazing is the help you got.

The laws of averages says that the next flat will be 7 billion light years (or anywhere in North Dakota) from the nearest pump that will fit your tube.

Your one lucky dude.

But the LBS attitude is typical.
