hey yeah i got my computer formatted but the guy who did it didnt put the driver for the cd burner back on it. I really need to burn somethings but I dont have the CD that came with the burner so where do i go to download a driver?
Go to the website of the folks that made your CD burner and download the driver off their website. Or find a file share network and get your driver there.

You don't need a driver for a burner. You just need the burning software.
Can you get the burning software off the website? I'm thinking you can.

If you can see the CD-drive in the WindowsExplorer and it shows files on a pre-made CD you stick in there, the driver's already installed and working OK.
With WinXP the burner-software is built into the OS. Just drag the files you want to copy onto the icon of the CD-drive. Arrange folders and such as you like. Right-Click -> WriteFilesToCD and that's it. :) The MS method makes an identical COPY of all your files in the <TEMP> folder, so it can take a while to copy the files, especially if you have DVD. Once the copying is finish, the 2nd copy of your files are then burned onto the CD.
The aftermarket programs like Nero BurningROM or Roxio EasyCD Creator are well worth the money. :)
