Hi all,
Came across a Holdsworth with cantilever brakes tucked back in a dark corner in storage at the LBS. The fork is slightly bent but the frame looks to be in fine shape. I cannot find any info on a Holdsworth being offered with canti mounts - I've done a pretty thorough search on the net and the Holdsworth history page has no mention of a model like this ever being offered. Unfortunatley, I do not have the model name with me now - I'll stop by the LBS in the next few days and check the bike more thoroughly. I do know it's Reynolds 531, lugs are nothing super fancy, plain fork crown and the color is a darkish maroon/brown with a headtube decal - not a badge.
Anybody have any idea what this might be?
Thanks!

I owned a bike shop from 1978 thru 1995. Sold Holdsworth framesets from 1978 thru about 1982 and I do not ever remember a model with cantilever bosses brazed on. That does not mean that the company did not make it. I purchased my frames from a wholesaler named Security Bicycle Co. of Hempstead, L.I., N.Y.
They carried just 3 models, which I carried: a sport model, a racing frame with high angles, and a touring frame with shallow angles. I build up a bike with the touring frame into a nice bike which I still own today. Quality of the frame was good but not the cleanest or nicest attention to brazing and details. So, from my experience I never saw one with cantis brazed on. Good luck in your search !
