Greetings all! Just found the site today.

I've been commuting every day here in the Twin Cities for the past year (yes, even in winter). I hoping that there are a few other Ice Riders out there.

I am building a new winter bike for the upcoming and would be inetrested in any comments on converting a traditional road bike to winter work -- ala cyclocross + Nokian studded tires.

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Mike

Greetings and welcome to the forums. Unfortunatly I could not help you seeing as I live in So.Cal. The only cold weather riding I get to do are the winter dh races up in the mountains.

Welcome-

I ride allot in the snow and ice as well, I have studs (IRC Billzards) but prefer to go without - just low pressure and a low gear. I just never stop pedaling, keep that momentum rolling. In the past I used a mountain bike all winter, but this year I plan on lowering the gear on my SS cyclocross bike and getting some fat tires for it, <40C.
