I made it through my first night without a rainfly or tarp last night. The inside of the tent still managed to get a little damp. I packed up and rode into the cafe in town for breakfast. Afterwards, I spotted Thomas rolling up from his ride down from Salmon Glacier. He said the ride went well. I went back to Hyder to get some post cards from the Boundary Gallery and some mocha swirl fudge. I also stopped in another gift shop and purchased an Alaskan Flag to hang below my U.S. flag on my trailer. I rode back to Fish Creek to see if I could spot any feeding bears before leaving but had no luck. I rode back to Stewart and got some peculiar questions from the border guard about drug use because of my roach clip pendent on my hemp necklace. I got a few things at the grocery and Thomas and I headed out of town. On our way out, we saw Cees from the Netherlands riding the other way into Stewart. We chatted for a bit about the Cassiar and parted saying goodbye. It was an overcast day as we followed the road back up from where we came a couple days earlier. The way back wasn't too bad and we reached the junction after a few hours. We decided to head South 1 km to the Meziadin Lake Provincial Campgrounds and cook there. Half way down to the park, we saw a perfect camping spot for the night off the side of the road. We cooked at the park and then went back to set up camp. This was a relatively short day of cycling and I was in my tent earlier than usual, so before bed, I wrote some post cards. (56 miles)
