Lately, I've been having nightmares at night. Bad dreams about terrible camping situations and other crazy stuff. I don't know why they've changed from the good sex dreams I was having a few days ago. Anyway, I got up and started to fix oatmeal. Then I remembered I still had those salmonberries I had collected in Usk last night. I love when that happens. I tossed them into the oatmeal for a nice fruity breakfast. I biked towards Terrace in a light sprinkle. A few miles outside of Terrace, a truck stops in front of me on the shoulder of the road. Tim and Shawn get out. What a surprise! I hadn't seen them since Dawson City. We traded stories on the roadside about the past few weeks. They gave me some smoked Pike fish they'd caught and we said goodbye. Wow, it was good to see them again. I finished up the ride into Terrace and stopped at the visitor's center for some info. I got the details on the library and aquatic center. I went to a wholesale food store and got a few things for the road. Man, what a shock walking around in that place was after so many weeks hopping from one small grocery to the next. I was a little hungry so I decided to go to Pizza Hut to put a dent in their all you can eat lunch buffet. I came away stuffed. I sought out the public library and got my email on for a short time before pedaling to the aquatic center across the street. $4.50 was money well spent there as I enjoyed the heck out of the pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. There were many kids playing at the pool and watching them reminded me of how much fun I used to have at the pool. Instead of reminiscing too much, I got in line for the diving board and tried to match the kids' crazy dives. Backflips, twists, belly flops, you name it. I had to stop when I threw out my shoulder during a twist in the air. I had a feeling it would happen. I spent the rest of the time in the hot tub before showering up and leaving. I went to the grocery store to get a few things for a meal and then back to the library to start typing in my journal entries. I stayed from 5pm till close at 9pm typing away. I rode around town as it began to get dark. I have to stop making my evenings so late! I decided to do some urban camping instead of riding out of Terrace in the dark. I still needed a few things from town before my day and a half ride to Prince Rupert. I set up camp in a small field behind some trees between a 24-hour gas station and a car dealership. I hope I don't get bothered tonight. Before bed, I snacked on a tasty French bread sandwich of procuitto and Swiss cheese, reminding me of my time in Spain last summer. (15 miles)
