Competed in my first mountain bike race this past weekend ..... it was a 24 hour race in Boone, Iowa. Had a great time and the 3-man team I was a part of actually took 1st place in the 3-man category. Much more challenging than I expected, especially mentally! I would have to say it's the hardest physical competition I have ever competed in(i've also done a sprint triathlon). Got to where you just didn't want to go out for another lap, but didn't want to let the team down, so you went anyway. Been 2+ days since the race and my legs are still very sore and swollen, no injuries though. Anyway I really enjoyed it overall and definitely plan to compete in more events down the road.
