Commuting - cygolite metro vs night-rover

question for those of you who have experience with cygolites (specifically metro or night-rover but pref. both):

for those who have tried & tested out both the metro and night-rover, which one do you prefer and why? it seems like they've got the same specs pretty much except one uses nimh and the other uses disposables (or rechargeables). the night-rover is about $10 more than the metro and seems more readily available as well. i've only found a couple places that sell the metro.

any thoughts or advice?

Just my two cents:

If you're considering one of the economical Cygolites, spend a few more dollars and splurge for the...

1) Cygo Lite Night-Rover Extra (16 Watt w/NiMh Battery) (I have this one)

or...

2) Night-Explorer (25 watt w/NiMh Battery)

Going from 12W to 16W (or preferably 25W) makes a difference. Don't even consider the Metro unless you already have the "D" rechargeables/charger. Using disposables might sound convenient, but you'll eat through a LOT of batteries.

i'll second the cygolite night rover extra (though i have the nicad version)... decent lighting for my avg 12mph ride... i was lucky enough to grab a brand new one off ebay for under $30...

my original plan was to get the metro since you get the versatility of rechargeables and alkaline... but i just couldn't resist that other deal...

well... i ended up just getting the metro. i read that you can always upgrade to make it 'rechargeable' later on. in either case, i think it'll be a fine solution for me. i'm not specifically planning on doing intensive night riding. i plan on using this only when i need to (whenever it starts getting darker here on my rides back to the apartment).

I have the Night Rover Xtra 16w. Works good. And for $80 at Airbomb, it's not bad deal. The Nimh battery charges overnight in 12hrs, and runs the 6w bulb for 6hrs, or the 10w bulb for 3hrs on one charge.
