Need advice on a bike purchase from all you Nashbar veterans. I'm looking at a bike that goes for $880. I think I've seen a coupon for 25% off come around. Should I wait for it? Or use the 20% above? Or, is there greater savings by waiting for a 10-15% coupon and combine it with free ship? What about overweight charges?

It all depends, they got some one day sales which come and go in a heartbeat.

Although sometimes you risk the item get out of stock. It happened to a lot of people here about two years ago where they had this carbon Mongoose bike for $800.00 with free shipping. People waited for the coupon codes, and by then it was to late, I luckily got my hands in one of those Mongoose (Kinetic) bikes.

Sometimes waiting for every nickel and dime savings is not worth it, either way Nashbar has very good deals. And I think Nashbar has the 5 or 10 day price match if an item goes lower in price. I have used it several times and they quickly gave me the refund.

it's not a really regular pattern afaik.

Nashbar had three bike sales last month of at least 15% off, and they had free shipping on bikes earlier this month, so they've likely cleared out a lot of excess inventory already. (It's probably also worthy of note that the 2nd quarter of 2011 ended last month, which probably gave them more of a reason to push out the sales.) I wouldn't be surprised if they had at least one more bike sale this month, but you'll just have to watch and wait for it.
