Just having a whinge isn't really working here. How about you be fair, and let us know what you ordered, as well as which shipping method you chose? When I lived in Oz, my shipping expenses from the US ran about $300/month, every month. It depends on the size and weight of the package, shipping method, and carrier. You can send shoes by USPS surface for $8, but Fedex air would be $50.

Watch out on the "Free Shipping" claim.

I made my order via web with the Free Shipping code and received an email confirming my item cost with zero shipping charges. However, when I received my orders, the invoice showed shipping charges with a different coupon code on the invoice. I made a call to Nashbar and they "graciously" fixed the charge error and credited it back to my credit card. However, I suspect this is a common bait & switch tactic that few people catch and they make out like a bandit.

Be sure to check the shipping invoice against the email invoice you get when ordering and be prepared to call to get your shipping charges reversed.

Now my next step is to check my next credit card bill to see if I really got the credit back.

Also, I think the coupon code is customer specific or a one time use code. The free shipping code on my catalog is different from quoted above.
