I have a Giro Eclipse helmet and the sweat pads are falling apart. Is there anywhere I can buy new ones?

How bad are they? I have washed mine by hand a few times and have even thrown them in a pillowcase in the washing machine.

If the fabric is kaputt, visit your LBS (some sell parts)... or sow your own.

I took all the pads out of my helmet and instead I wear a headsweat. I like this arrangement much more than the helmet pads.

When I bought my Giro Pnuemo a year ago I bought two extra pair of pads for the helmet. I did this through the LBS. I figure I will have the helmet for at least three years and a fresh set of pads every year should be good. In the mean time I hand wash my pads about every other month in the sink with mild detergent and warm water. So far so good.

I have not been able to find any new pads for the eclipse helmet, but I sewed them up and so far they are holding. Anymore on long rides, I will where a bandana underneith.

Have you tried calling Giro and asking them? A couple of years ago, I had the same problem with my Bell, called the company, and was told they give free replacements. Since then I called and got another pair. The downside? Both times they were the wrong pads. :( Still, they were close enough to work.

Giro and Bell (cycling helmets) are owned by the same company. It seems like Giro might do the same.
