First off, change the 20" front wheel to a 26" wheel. The geometry on that bike right now is so screwd up i wouldt dare take it out of my front yard. You can pick up a nice used XT wheelset on eBay for under $100.

Get a new wheelset, one that you can hang onto when you change bikes. Then ride that bike until it dies in a few years. By then, you should beable to buy a more trail worthy bike you can really drop some cash into.

Maybe goto a garage sale and pick up a junker, you can use parts off that to fix this bike, a $150 budget really isnt that much for a bike... You may be better off purchasing a new to you used bike, and start over. *shrug*

As mentioned above, look for a decent used bike. That looks like a Mongoose D40R. Aren't those Ballistic front forks? It was sold at Wal-Mart for about 100-150 bucks new. It's not worth putting any more money into. Steel frame and HEAVY. Just my opinion.

The front brakes look a little scary.

The guy who went crazy with the spray can deserves a spanking.

Look for the person the bike was stolen from, get the $15.00 reward and build from there.

Good luck.

P.S.

Do Gypsies live in that tent?

Let the guy with the Quest van know the company is going down the tubes.

It's sad, but true

Your bike is doo-doo

I ride a doo-doo bike from time to time, but the only parts I added were strips of duct tape. Don't waste your money, friend. Start from scratch.
