I have a U-lock, and yesterday I unlocked my bike and when I put the lock back in its holder and turned the key, it broke. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the key? Also this lock was given to me by a friend, if i get the broken key out of the lock, I was wondering if it would be possible to get a couple of keys cut.

1.high-pressure air IN means high-pressure air out
2.heat: if the metals are different, they may expand differently/favorably
3.very careful application/insertion of superglue to the part you do have.

Thanks USNagent, after watching American Pie 2 I will be very careful when using Superglue.

Not sure!
But look on the bright side: it happened after you unlocked your bike!
Usnagent007, I like your pic. We should wear what fits.
There's always a Locksmith. He'll get the key out and make a couple new ones for about $10.00.

The best idea may be the locksmith since you need a new key anyway. The option not mentioned here ia to get two of those sharp pointy things a dentist would use and try to pull the key out.
