Hey you history geeks and cult film geeks. There's a repeat of a show tonight on the History channel called Rome: Engineering an Empire. They have the usual melange of art history experts and professors make comments, then show the places and maybe have the guys walking around at the scene. Well, they pop one guy up who looks vaguely familiar, the script under his name says Peter Weller, Syracuse. Not Peter Weller, actor or whatever, but I hear him talk and sure enough, it's Robocop.
I don't know what the deal is, did he retire from acting and is know a Professor at Syracuse? Whatever, it's an interesting show if you're into that sort of thing, talks about engineering the Appian Way, aquaducts, arches, etc., and how these helped the empire grow, also about the personalities, successes of various famous people of the time. Anybody else see it? ANd what's with all the Rome based stuff on TV now? Thought that horse had been beat to death around the time of Gladiator.
