Must be the rain that's making those of us in Washington join up today. I have been riding off and on for a few years, mostly plodding along on a cruiser with 7 gears. I finally broke down and picked up a relatively cheap mountain bike to ride on the trails a few months ago. The mountain bike isn't enough--I have just bought a 2004 Specialized Dolce Elite WSD. I first rode it yesterday, but decided the rain was a bit too much to take it out today--it's pouring down rain, and the roads are too slick with oil today. I saw two fender benders just in the 10 miles home from work. I really enjoy reading the comments in the forums, and I have already learned a great deal.
