hi everyone,
please excuse the rant, but i'm so happy to have found this forum. i bought a bike a bit more than three years ago, and started using it to get part of the way to work almost two years ago out of blind fury at the insanity of the transit system. instant addict, i was. air! views! freedom!!!!! i just loved that feeling of being the captain of my own destiny, not subject to the traffic patterns or the scheduling whims of transit system executives. it's opened up parts of my own community to me that used to feel out of reach.
i work as a hired gun, so my workplace and biking habits keep changing. i find that 'within feasible cycling distance' and 'a place to shower before i start work' is now almost higher on my list of things-i-must-have than whether or not i have to wear the kinds of clothes you need to sort into piles before you wash them. i just started commuting again to my current contract and it's quite a challenge for me. i'm just so thrilled that it's turned out to be possible, the commuting section of this forum is just what i need.

Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
