I recently found a great deal on a GT Karakoram k2. I plan on fixing it up and selling it. I was told it is a 1991 model. I believe it is a 19 inch. NO suspension. It has: shimano deore dx front derailuer and shifters, deore xt rear derailuer, shimano sg c46 crank, shimano SLR "U-2" rear brake, shimano front brake, shimano deore hubs/wheels. It will be in perfect mechanical condition. The paint is good, but a few scratches. My question is what a good asking price for this would be. I have no idea what it would be worth. also, does anyone know what this bike would have cost new?

I'd say you'll be lucky to get $150 for it unsuspended. New was probably $5-600. I bought a 91 Avalanche with Rock Shox Mag 20 for $1000, list was $1090 if I remember correctly. I still have it, though I've since replaced fork, wheels, stem, saddle & front brake. There is no changing a u-brake, except with another one. It works though.

I doubt that XT der is original. Mine came with a DX rear; still works fine.
