I have just bought some upgrades for my bike and I thought while I was waiting I would make sure I have all the tools needed to complete the job. The caps that go over the fixing bolt are different than that on the truvativ crank I currently have.

I have bought a fc-6500 ultegra crank. I have been looking on park tool at the pin spanner tools, and am not sure wich I will need. Will the red one work? In the instructions that came with the crank there is a torque spec for the cap. How important is it to tourque the cap? if it is important is there a tool that will fit my torque wrench. Any help would be apreciated.

If the crank was new, didn't it come with the pin spanner? If not, you can make one if you are clever. The cap only needs to be tight enough not to come loose. A wrap of telfon tape works. If you really worry about it, here is the ultimate do everything tork wrench www.sheldonbrown.com/tork-grip
