I'll be building up a new wheel tomorrow and I need to order spokes. All of my previous builds have been either straight gauge or DT competition (14/15/14 butted.) I'm thinking about maybe doing these up with DT revolution (14/17/14 butted.) Do any of you have strong opinions/experience that I should know about? I'm 220# and ride hard.

with your weight/style get the DB 14/15. can't go wrong. and go three cross.

If you are building 36 hole 3X, you can go with DT revolution (usually only recommended for the front, but I use them on the back as well...I weigh 135).

If you are building anything smaller, stick with DT competition.

FWIW, at your weight I would go with 36 hole rims. See here (http://www.bsn.com/Cycling/tubulars.html) for some reference.

Thanks for the info, I'm definitely going 36, x3; and will probably go with the 14/15/14's; I'll keep y'all informed!
