What is the first trick you should learn for street? I am just getting started i bmx. I have done a few jumps here and there but nothing further for street.

Feeble grind. It's your front tire and back peg. It's the basic street grind and what you will be doing until your doing rails or doubles and smiths on cement. It will reduce friction and allow you to slide further on cement. Find a low ledge and start trying it.

Manual. Practice this every day for the rest of your life. It will take you months just to get a few feet.
or in my case 4years to get to 10meters (32ft)

i did the bar spin then worked on the 180 but that is flatland. try a feeble as already said or right off the bat try a grind down a rail off of a 3 set if u can hop that high

This is the order I learned my first 5 tricks:
1. One Footer
Easy... just make sure your ready for one of your feet to quickly go down. Go bigger and bigger and you'll be doing one footers off of everything.
2. Whip (NOT a tailwhip)
Use your legs to move the back end of the bike in whichever direction you feel comfortable.
3. No Footer
This one takes guts. Once you get over the fear, you can start taking your feet off of the bike. Then just go bigger and bigger.
4. 180
I just needed to practice this for an hour or so and then I got it. What I do is kind of turn as I come up off the ground, then I bring my back end around.
5. Decent manual (Not one of those 3 foot manuals the local 12 year olds brag about)
This one takes a WHILE. The only advice I have is practice practice practice...

If you are riding street though.. I would stick to grinds, gaps, and manuals for now. On small things for now of course.
what can you currenlty do?
can you bunnyhop at all? if not, work on that everyday. hop over cans and empty boxes or whatever until you can hop onto a bench or something of simalar height.
work on x-ups. even if you can't jump, pull your front end up and turn your bars. work on turning them both directions. and try to get your bars at least 180 degrees.
endos. jam your foot into your front tire and lift your back end up. or slowly run into a curb and lift your back end up.
manuals, as stated. lift your font wheel and keep it up for as long as you can. put your body behind the seat and try to coast.....
most of all, SPEND TIME ON YOUR BIKE and PRACTICE doing stuff.

I dont see endos and especially x-ups being big street tricks or something you should worry about at all if you are riding street.. no offense pnj.. bunny hops and manuals are definately worth working on. the one footers and no footers as well.. these are air tricks, not street tricks...

they aren't big street tricks. but without know what level the original poster is at, I was trying to give some basics...
and one could do no-footers on street. how about a big gapped x-up?
but I mainly put those there thinking his skill level was at zero or just above. I often ride with kids that have only been riding a year or so and are young. they can't bunnyhop or do anything. I show them some stupidly simple moves and it gives them something to work on..

i think the bunny hop, wheelie(if that could be considered a trick), and the manual...were my first tricks......and then of coarse riding with no hands...my signature trick...lol.......actually my favorite trick and my signature trick is the 180 on flat land....i just love it...lol...it is fun, relatively easy, and it always looks good when your just fooling around with some friends...whatever...just whatever looks neat to you...try it...and if you can't do it...try it again...also...one thing you have to get rid of is fear...cuz i always had a problem with that....actually i just sorta got over it....so it might take some time before that
