I needed some packing peanuts today, bad. So, I rode over to the Office Depot a couple of miles away and got a big bag of the things, sheesh $20 but as mentioned, I needed the things since the neighbors have not been leaving enough good packing stuff in the dumpsters this week. So, how to get these home? I took my messenger bag with me, what I ended up doing is, I undid the twist tie on the bag opening, then divided the opening in two and tied as tight a square knot as I could around the little extra carry handle on the top of my messenger bag ($10 option on a custom timbuk2 and worth it). So, riding home, I looked like a giant ant! You know how they have that huge rear end? Well, that was me, except mine was transparent and full of packing peanuts. I had to do my best Eddy Merckx crouch to make sure the bag didn't rub on the rear tire, and got home no problemo - I think I provided an interesting sight to several peds and motorists. What's interesting is, I expected a fair amount of wind drag but even though it was a windy day, there was no perceptable wind drag.

I gotta take a pic of our local aluminum can collector here and post it for you to see. As fantastic as your packing peanut story is, this guy has us all beat.

He does it all by bicycle and carries them in huge zeppelin sized garbage bags - sometimes three or four enormous bags at one time. It is quite a sight!

I wonder if it is the same guy. I see this guy EVERYWHERE. He is very mobile on that bicycle.

Yesterday I was seen in Los Altos, all over up in the hills, by Larry Ellison's house, in mountain view, in the local hardware store two seperate times, all over the freakin place. It's all about the mobility.
