Winter Cycling - An idea I had... the IceBike!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
What if...
There was a bike that had metal rims that were cut from thick sheet metal or somethin (no tires) with a sawblade sort of texture to them so you could actually cut into the ice for some traction? The wheels sould be like a huge gear, like on your freewheel or somethin.
Like it?

You can actually buy tires that have snow studs in them. My roommates brother has a set. I've also heard of people sacrificing old tires by putting nails in them and riding on the ski slopes (be careful with clearence on FS bikes). Definitely sounds like a downhiller type of stunt.
A wheelset like you described would be kinda fun (probably a little heavier too) to hit a frozen lake with. You could probably do some pretty cool tricks.
Only problem I could see with wheels like that would be the danger to your's and other people's safety. Can you imagine accidently hitting someone or crashing badly and those hitting you?
Neat idea. Sounds like something for James Bond.
In the wrong hands, wheels with saw blades could be a menace to society!
Keep them away from Al Qaeda!
