I have some older Joytech hubs on 700c wheels that I took apart last night for maintenance. There has been a grinding noise for a little while and I think I discovered the cause: pitting on the races of the cones as seen in the attached picture. There is one large area shown and another smaller area on the opposite side. I assume this means I need replacement cones.
My problem is finding replacement cones. Harris Cyclery is the only place I've found that carries Joytech, but they are listed as rear only and have no pictures for me to ascertain if they are the correct ones or not.
So, if I can't replace the cones, I guess that means new hubs, which in turn means new wheels? Is this my only option? If not, what wheels are recommended at a reasonable price for an ATB type bike?
