Couldn't think of a better forum for this question, so it's here for my trusted commuting friends.

I saw this picture on the Fixedgear Forum and I was curious about the brand of the wire/rod chainguard bolted to the frame in the picture. I would like something similar for when I'm wearing long pants and running quick errands on the commuter. But really I just like the style. Any comments?

That's pretty cool. It looks like the outer chainring also has the teeth taken off. I did that to my commuter last summer as well. I never used the outer ring so I ground the teeth off. Now it serves as a good chainguard.

I like the wire thingy, too!

OK, who did it?

I believe that Wallingford had those chainguards for a while. I don't recall the brand though.

Looks like something from Momovelo. They used to stock strange things like wooden fenders.

Sadly, wallbike is also down due to hurrcane Katrina. The website is running but there has been no update since before the hurricane. I hope everyone is OK. They're good people.

Yea, I was looking to order a Carradice bag and a few other things from them right before the hurricane. First and foremost, I hope the employees and their families are safe. They've treated me great in the past and they'll be the first people I order from when they get back. Secondly, I hate to imagine all those beautiful Brooks saddles underwater.

The new way to break in a Brooks?:

1. Find a hurricane.
2. Soak the new saddle in flood waters for at least two weeks.
3. Ride the saddle to an evacuation shelter.

Seriously though, I wish Bill could get an update on his web site to let us know how they're doing. His last update, before the hurricane hit, said they were evacuating so they're probably OK.

Supcom, I searched the forums and found this thread from a week or so ago.

Sounds like Bill and his wife are safe, but no word on when Wallbike will get back to business.

Thanks GTcommuter. Glad to see that everyone is safe and that there may be hope for the business. If Bill could get some stock, I'd buy a saddle to help him out. I bought a couple new bikes this year that still need real saddles.

You can get one easily enough, Except they cost between 800 and 1200 bucks :D
Just go get a new bike...
