I gave up bicycling 35 years ago. One great backroads trip from Munich to Barcelona satisfied every bicycling gene I possess, two months on the continent, two months on the southern coast of Crete. I bought my bike from Maison Hornecker in Strasbourg in 1971, Marque Mercier with a Poulador decal.
