Ok so I have a new wheelset and was thinking of putting a new cassette on it so I can easily swap out wheelsets on my bike. I have the trek 1200 with tiagra on it now but I was looking on ebay and was thinking of getting a better cassette like a dura ace since I see them at good prices. How easy would this be to do for a novice? I'll be getting a 9 spd sot it matches what I have on my bike already.

Why do you think you need DA.Ultegra is more than good enough for a 1200 and 105 works just dandy.You need a shimano lockring tool and metric cresent wrench, or tork wrench for the inept www.sheldonbrown.com/tork-grip

dura Ace uses Ti alloy cogs for the large cogs. They do not wear as well as conventional (ultegra) cogsets. The weight savings is negligible. To me DA is a step downward....but no one ever agrees with me.

Absolutely do it, no matter which grade you buy. R&R of a cassette is not what you want to have to do before a ride if you didn't plan ahead. And a spare is always good anyway.
