I just spent a fascinating couple of hours browsing the U.S. Patent Office website (http://www.uspto.gov/) using "folding bicycle" and "foldable bicycle" in the "Quick Search" Term 1, and "Title" in Field 1. There are all sorts of semi-goofy ideas, and the patents for many popular current folders available for viewing and downloading.
