All of you recognize the benefits and joys of riding tandems vs. riding solo. While almost all of you ride relatively new hi-tech tandems, I see that some appreciate older bikes as well for the nostalgia and for their beauty. But if 2 is better than 1, what is 3, or 4, or even 5-seaters. I recently posted in this subforum regarding a 1950's "Valk Triplet" on ebay. One of the responses, astonished by the price, suggested that the bike would have to be "the holy grail of triplets" to command that much money. No, that bike ain't no holy grail of Triplets, Triplets themselves are the holy grail! How ya gonna place a value on them when there are none? If there is no supply and no demand (except for me) then what is the price? There were thousands of these 3, 4, 5, and 6-seat bikes in the 1950's rented hourly at seashore vacation destinations - where are they now.
