Hi there,
I'm building a SC Heckler. My Heckler intended use is for All mountain aggressive XC and light free ride. I have a full XT components (except for the cranks), rear air shock (manitou swinger 4way), and the Marazocchi AM 1 (6" travel) fork. I'm considering the Shimano XT (760) or the Hone (which I couldn't find any review about it but I hear they may be the right stuff for the job + it is cheaper).

Happy to get your feedbacks...

I'm sure there are heaps of riders out there with experience over the XT (including myself actually) and I know they are excellent cranks but I aim for the intended use (above), any riders with experience over the Hone?

Ride all ya can,
Y a l i

Here is a very good review on them:

Basically he says they are great and escellent value for money. I have seen them on quite a few bikes and not hear a single complaint about the Hones.

well i can't report too much yet...
but after destroying my 2nd bottom bracket in 6 months (Race Face Evolve XC) on my Freerider i was going to upgrade to something hopefully stronger... but the BB went 2 days before a Freeride race so i had to find something ASAP and i found the Hone COMPLETE for just a little more than what a BB would cost me.

so i'm running it on my 38lb Freerider now. it's only been 3 weeks but it feels fine... it has the same external bearing as the XT and looks sturdy enough. i have had good luck with the XT so i thought it was worht a try (at half the cost of anything comparable and i think better than replacing the BB on my old RF because i now have the external BB type)

i heard next year they will also be offering a 2-ring with bash guard.

I was looking at the hone or the evolve dh, and decided to go with the evolve dh, cause I found them cheaper in a double. But I would choose hone over xt for that kind of stuff.
